Anyone could enter the Jagara pack lands... anyone knew that. Their land was only the beginning point for wolven who came here; almost none stayed. There were almost no rules here, which was why any wolf from any pack could come here. Nexus shook her off-white fur and yawned. So far there had been no news from the Dagonna pack... that was what was troubling her. She had heard that the Terros pack had gotten a new Alpha. He was the real reason she was here. She sat back on her haunches and let out a howl. The howl called any wolven that were around to come into this almost no-man's land to talk to her. All wolven that did not answer to the call of Dagona. Stopping her howl, Nexus waited calmly.

Flaren entered the Jagara Packlands, wanting to speak to the other Alpha. Each white paw of his landing silently on the ground. He stopped for a moment as the howl of the Jagara Alpha reached his ears. With a swift trot, he went off to meet her.
"Greetings!"
Flaren called as he neared. After a few paces he was only a wolf-length from her.
"As you may know, I am Flaren, the new Alpha of the Terros Pack.
He introduced himself, bowing his head slightly in a gesture of respect to his equal.
He pulled his head up again, and sat. This was a gesture that hopefully told Nexus that he was not here for a fight or to claim lands, only to talk peacefully.
"You must be Nexus, I presume?"

Nexus smiled, noting the grace of the wolf in front of her. She too bowed her head.
"Yes, I have heard of you, mighty Flaren. And it is also true that I am Nexus, the Alphess of the Digata pack. The Jagara Alphess is away on personal terms."
She smiled at him.
"I have heard much about you, Flaren. I am glad that someone with a little bit of common sense could take over the Terros pack."

Flaren chuckled.
"Thank you."
He smiled, pulling his white tipped tail over his paws.
"I have also heard much about yourself. I am sure you lead your pack well."
Flaren was silent for a moment before speaking once more.
"So, how are you and your pack? I hear a war is on many a wolf's mind even more so now than before."
He questioned gently. He did not fully expect an answer; many alphas were wary about sharing information about their pack to others. Flaren himself was only slightly secretive. For him, it depended on what information he was being asked for.

Nexus looked sideways at her new equal. How much should she reveal?
"War is... on the minds of many of my pack members. we don't wish to attack now as winter is coming but we cannot back down if Dagonna attack."
It was much more complicated than that, but she would not say any more as she looked steadily at her companion.

Flaren nodded. He had only expected about that much as an answer.
"My pack wishes peace, but...If we are attacked, we will not back down either."
Flaren looked up at the sky, lost in his own thoughts.

Nexus looked at him. It's at times like this that I wish I was like him; no blood on my head.
"I hope other's come, I need more pack members."
Or maybe he has had a horrible past; he has done so much wrong that now he only longs for peace? Or maybe it's all an act? She shook her head, slightly amused at her thoughts. I guess I'll never know.

"Same here..."
Flaren looked back at Nexus. Then he looked around for no real reason before speaking again.
"I'm sorry, but I must get back to my pack. Good Luck."
Flaren nodded to her, turned, and trotted off in the direction of his home, with a flick of his tail in farewell.

Nexus nodded after the Alpha and watched him go for a long time before turning away and walking back to her pack lands herself.
"Finally. A good leader for that pack."
A faint smile crossed her face as she bounded over the lands.
"Pity he does not wish to fight..."
Sighing she slowed, her nose picking up the scents of new comers. A smile twitched across her face.
"They will come here when they are ready."
Then she was gone.
